Long Road Home

Although new to the music scene in 2022, LONG ROAD HOME has years of collective touring and recording experience going back to the ’70s with influences from greats such as Gary Moore, Robin Trower, Deep Purple, Joe Bonamassa and many more.

The band features Storm Warning founding members and Larry Miller band members bassist Derek White and keyboard player Ian Salisbury, plus the ever impressive guitarist Steve Summers and vocalist Mike Sebbage, who were both previously with the band Rien de Faire.

LONG ROAD HOME has their roots firmly planted in the blues/rock genre and have created a unique sound amalgamating various musical styles. You can expect to hear fresh original rockers and blues influenced tunes from their new debut album combined with some classic blues and rock.

The Shufflepack

Blues to make you wanna jump & shout!

Every night is different, but the groove is always the same. With The Shufflepack, the deck is always stacked with the blues
Stuart Maxwell – vocals, harmonica
Joe Nethercoat – guitar
Tom Domagala – saxes, flute
Derek White – bass
Chris Lloyd – drums

Five guys who set out to play swinging R&B and shuffling blues. That’s proper R&B kids, not RnB, that funny new stuff they do now.

What you get is a taste of 1950s Chicago, with a bit of 1940s here and there. Which means Howlin’ Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson, Wynonie Harris, Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters and the well-known apiarist Roosevelt ‘The Honeydripper’ Sykes. Not forgetting the three Kings: Freddie, Albert and B.B.

In between, there’s a fair dose of 21st Century Chilterns, with original blues by Son Maxwell, and his reinterpretations of old blues classics like Evil and Shame Shame Shame. Fortunately, they still sound an awful lot like 1950s Chicago; none of that noisy blues rock, thank you very much.

If you like your blues cool and yet, somehow, hot, The Shufflepack are your men.

Mark Harrison Trio

Acclaimed national touring artist Mark Harrison brings his unique music and band back to Tring

Mark Harrison (National + 12-string guitars/vocals)
Charles Benfield (double bass/vocals)
Ben Welburn (drums/percussion)

There is no one in music quite like Mark Harrison. With his unique and acclaimed rhythm section, he is widely considered one of the most original and interesting artists around. His highly individual, all-original music has taken him and the band to some of the top venues and festivals in the UK, attracting acclaim wherever he goes. Recent appearances on BBC Radio 2, as guest on Cerys Matthews’s show and on the Pick Of The Week show, have further added to his growing reputation.

Described at BBC Radio 2 as ‘quirky’ and an artist who ‘makes you think afresh’, Mark is a totally original songwriter, a stunning guitarist, and a master storyteller. Mark’s live shows are well-known not only for the music but also for his introductions and explanations of the songs, delivered in a manner often described as ‘wry’ and ‘dry’.

Mark is a songster, and his songs cover all manner of non-standard subjects. With catchy tunes, lyrics than intrigue and engage, and striking rhythms, they make you smile, think and move. He takes elements of roots music, including folk, blues and gospel, to create something new that is very much his own genre. Each song is a snapshot of life or has a story to tell, like a 3-minute film or novel.

A thrilling, rhythmic, finger-picker and slide player, with a very distinctive style, Mark tours extensively. He has released six albums which have been unanimously acclaimed across a wide range of areas of the music world, receiving a very great deal of airplay and highly enthusiastic reviews in the UK, Europe and the US, the latest being the double album THE ROAD TO LIBERTY.
